The first-place Phils?

This is a S-O-M simulation for a reason, you'll either get numbers resembling or fairly close to the actual 1961 action, or you'll get anomalies like what I'm about to show you; on the other hand, I'm pretty sure Qualls, Oklahoma does exist.
Johnny on the spot(or not)
Last night at the Coliseum, the pride and joy of Qualls, Oklahoma Johnny Callsion, homered in his first 2 at-bats against the Dodgers homer-prone Johnny Podres, which was enough to give the Phils' their 2nd triumph in as many games, 5-3. Ruben Amaro even added a solo shot off Podres to back up the complete-game pitching of Art Mahaffey. The Dodgers Tommy Davis did get a 2-run shot off of Mahaffey(who struck out 7) in the 1st, while Maury Wills in a last-ditch effort to extend the game, was caught stealing 2nd with Jim Gilliam at the plate with the tying run. The Dodgers will send Roger Craig to try and avert a sweep against Hollywood native Frank Sullivan in the series finale.
Injury report: Willie Davis(Dodgers) out 5 games.
Dodgers notes: Dodger pitchers have allowed 6 home runs.
Loes, Giant bats give Pirates some "woes"
Billy Loes held the defending champs in check with 7-2/3 innings of solid pitching, while the Giants batted around in the 3rd, scoring 6 runs from 10 batters, highlighted by Willie Mays 2-run single with the bases loaded. Ed Bressoud added a solo homer in the 4th to help pace a booming 13-hit attack at the 'Stick in the Giants 7-2 triumph.
Giants notes: Willie McCovey went 4-for-4 with a RBI and a run scored.
American League the next 2 nights, back with those games on Thursday, then the National League for 2 more before something that didn't exist back in 1961: The Super Bowl.
